The Woman of the Year Awards dinner was held on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel

The Women's Roundtable annually presents the Woman Of The Year Award in this area and we are very proud of this event. This award honors women who have become role models for not only young women and girls, but all humankind.

2013 Woman of The Year

RoseMarie Lackey

Director of Mission Ministry, Erie City Mission

RoseMarie Lackey created Women’s Connection Ministry at the Erie City Mission, which for 100 years has primarily served men, and serves as Director of this program. This ministry brings women together across socioeconomic and cultural barriers to build relationships that are mutually supportive. RoseMarie also developed Bonker’s 4 Jesus, an inner-city summer camp that brings children an excellent opportunity to participate in arts, academics and athletics.

RoseMarie served from 1999-2006 as Athletic Director for Erie First Christian Academy, coaching girls Junior Varsity, Varsity, and fifth/sixth grade basketball. She has directed and coordinated fund raisers to support the Academy’s athletics.

RoseMrarie has also traveled to the Dominican Republic to work for women in the “Meeting God in Missions” program.

Prior to her own diagnosis of breast cancer in 2011, she raised money both locally and nationally for charities including the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
